Gift of Giving

This year our holiday spending had to be pretty much cut in half since our little boy is due to arrive exactly 3 weeks after Christmas. I have been wracking my brain for a while as to what I can get everyone. For the adults in our family (parents, grandparents, siblings), they will receive one of my handmade fabric letters and an ornament from St. Jude's. This by far is my most favorite gift to send out this year. Many of the ornaments are only $8 each or 3 for $21 and are inspired by patient's artwork. Not to mention the proceeds go to an amazing cause. Who needs Black Friday sales when there are better things to get everyone that also gives to others?!

Thank you for coming to visit my little piece of the blogging world. My name is Marleena and I am currently a teacher and mommy in the making. My future baby boy is due to be born on January 15, 2011, which is less than 8 weeks away! I have recently dropped to part-time hours with my employer and starting December 25 I will be on an unpaid maternity leave, though I plan to be solely a stay at home mom, working from home.
My husband is currently in college to finish his degree by the end of Spring 2011. He works with his mom finding and selling merchandise online here and here.
This blog will show how we're making ends meet with a newborn, bills, buying a home, crafting on small business paychecks.
